Brilliant!

I definately have the smartest child ever! I know I've said this before, but it is just always true! Here is the proof- I put Holden down for a little tummy time. He was laying there all sweet & peaceful when all of a sudden he pushed way up, just looking around. He was up there for sooo long! I know it's been a long time since I've had a baby around, but this just seemed awfully good for an 11 week old! He is obviously brilliant! (He must take after his sisters...)

Makenna watching her brother in amazement~
It is so much fun to watch him developing his little personality, and the fact that he knows us and smiles when he looks at us is so wonderful. He is truly a blessing!

The Camper comes home..

While I was very glad that Isabelle was away at camp having a good time, I was very happy to go get her. I felt like she grew and looked older- and it was only 4 days! She said that she wasn't sad, but she "missed us a whole lot!" I think that is a perfect way to describe my feelings as well! We got to go to a closing service overlooking Lake Bridgeport (beautiful), see the "goatman's trail", cabins, pool, and canteen before heading back to Plano. She had so much that she wanted to tell us about- she didn't stop talking for the hour and a half trip back!

Holden missed his sister!

Makenna's busy week

Makenna had such an exciting week while her sister was away. She went to Princess Prep school this week. It was the neatest program- about being God's princess and what her royal purpose is. It was very "girlie"- they has lots of pink & boas, got to paint their nails every day, and do cute crafts. She loved it!
The day of her graduation I had a cute little dress picked out, but she informed me that she needed a "real" princess dress. After trying on many, she settled on the purple one- very royal! Talk about her dream event- getting to wear dress-up clothes out!
Their graduation... she is already planning on going again next year!
Friday night Makenna & Reese (and mom and Aunt Sarah) got to have a girl's night out!For our evening we got to go see DORA THE EXPLORER Live! We have been looking forward to the show for so long, I thought Makenna was going to burst with excitement!
Me and my galAunt Sarah & ReeseAnd Dora!I think Makenna's highlight was when Dora's cousin- Diego- was in the show. She had gotten a Diego doll as a souvenir since he is her favorite. When she started dancing with him above her head I had to laugh- it was like a groupie at a rock concert!
Definitely a fun evening!

Woo Hoo!

Why does this baby look so happy, you may wonder? Because he slept for 8 hours last night! I hope he plans on this becoming a habit! He then had his 2 month checkup, and he was so good. He smiled the whole time he was being checked out, cried for about 10 seconds when he got his 2 shots then was happy again. He is doing now weighs 11 pounds 6 ounces and is 22 3/4 inches- 50% for both.

After getting things packed, snacks and sunscreen bought, care packages and letters ready- the day finally came! This afternoon I took Isabelle to camp for the week, and boy was she ready. I can't believe that she is old enough to go by herself! She was so incredibly excited that she and her friend Kennedy talked on the phone about a dozen times in the past 2 days- making sure they had everything they needed.

The girls unloading and carried their own things- with no complaints!
Unpacking and getting getting settled in their cabin...

Holden had to come to send them off and get a little love before leaving them. I did so good- no tears or anything! It is awesome that they are so excited- I can't wait until Saturday to hear how her week went!

Splish Splash

Holden decided that he really liked the bath- and was kicking like CRAZY! The girls and I were very entertained by him!

The past 8 weeks- Recap

Since I am such a blogger slacker, I figured I'd try to update a little on life since Holden's arrival...
Big news- Makenna graduated from preschool! As her teacher, I had to read a little poem about how great it has been having your children & letting them go- as the mommy I was getting very teary trying to read that! I can't believe she will be a big kindergartener soon! She (as usual) got to be the "star"- she got to do the official welcome for the graduation ceremony.
Makenna & me just before the big event
Isabelle and Makenna love their baby brother & he is constantly in their arms. In fact, most of our early summer arguments were about who gets to hold Holden! I did get my turn whenever he got fussy or hungry.
Isabelle played softball again this summer- this year I didn't get to go to a whole lot of games, but my personal photographer- Lynda- was there to capture some moments for me.Having a little fun...
Any Makenna has decided she wants to play soccer. Actually, not just play- she wants to be the team captain (like Troy on High School Musical) and win a big trophy. I guess we'll give it a try in the fall.
Holden has had lots of visits from Lynda and Laura- and Laura is trying to figure out how to put him in a carrier & take him to work with her.
Makenna giving him his 1st bottle.
Isabelle went to Twilight Hollow (Girl Scout Camp) for the 3rd year and had lots of fun. She will actually be going to church camp next week- 1st time at sleep away camp. She is very excited!
Holden's "Oh" face- the girl's favorite! He is developing such a personality already- he keeps us entertained.

Bonding with Alfie- since he doesn't get to go over to Lynda's everyday like the girls did- he gets to go visit the Fluffy Pup. (And he makes a great pillow!)

NO- those aren't suppose to be capri jammies- he is outgrowing his clothes already!Happy baby...

The girls have also been busy with swim lessons, VBS, swimming, and being lazy! We also spent all of last week in Gulf Shores, Alabama with my family. I will (really) try to post from that soon!
