1st Day of School!

After a lot of excitement, it is FINALLY time for school to start!!
Makenna was so excited for kindergarten, and has been a little wound up. (see below!) I was a little sad but mostly happy about her going to school- she was ready!Isabelle is such a big girl- she was so laid back about going to school- she wasn't nervous about having a new teacher or being in 4th grade. She has some friends in her class which is always good.

Going into Kindergarten...

Makenna and her teacher Ms. Runyon (as she says- not "Onion, Runyon!")
Isabelle and her teacher Mrs. Smith
And on the 2nd day of Kindergarten, aunt Sarah gave to Makenna... Love it!
Isabelle had also planned out her clothes. She is really a "fashionista" now!

Hair today, gone tomorrow...

We are going to Houston next week, so we decided to go ahead and get a back to school haircut yesterday- since the rest of Plano goes the week before school. On the way there Isabelle asked about cutting her hair for Locks of Love. I told her I didn't think her hair was long enough, but we could ask. Well- it was quite a bit too short- 3 or 4 inches, but the stylist told her she may be able to do it by Christmas. I guess she already had decided that she wanted that short 'do, because she didn't want to wait until Christmas, she wanted it cut short now. After asking her many times if she was sure, she got quite a bit cut off- (man that kid has a lot of hair!)I think she felt like a big girl with her shorter hair- and she definately looked cute!

Isa the baker

Isabelle had so much fun at her friend Cami's birthday party. Not only was it a swimming party, but she got her own peronalized apron...
And decorated a cake which she then got to bring home for her family- score!

Lovin' the Lovie

Grammie has made a really pretty blankets for the girls & Holden. She has also crocheted some small lovies for Holden that are really soft. He really has shown no interest in them, though.

Well, I put Holden down in his crib this evening, swaddled in his polka dot blanket, and put the lovie his Grammie made right next to his cheek. He was watching his mobile, so I left the light on while I was helping the girls were getting ready for bed. When I went back in his room, he had worked his way out of his blanket and was holding the lovie with both arms. This was so sweet because he really had to work to get it like this, and he really seemed to enjoy it! He kept rubbing it on his cheek then pulling it down.I did re-wrap him up so he could go to sleep- although I let him keep his snuggly lovie in his blanket. (Which he kept hanging on to even after falling asleep!)
